Our new bedroom!

We got our new furniture the Wednesday after we completed the floor I jus haven't posted the pictures yet like I said I would. So here it is before and after.

Pretty cool. Next project is the bathroom floor. We're going to us the same type of flooring, but it will look like tile. I don't think that is in the near future.

My little Bean dog can't get fixed for a few more weeks because he's so small. Just like before we got Pepper fixed he's marking the carpets. Same spots Pepper did. I shampooed those spots this morning. The rest of the carpet in the house will eventually be replaced too.

On another note. I met this wonderful lady here. Her husband and mine carpooled for a while. She invited me to a couple gatherings and I've been meeting so many people. I get to go to her baby shower tomorrow too. She's having a little girl in 3 weeks. Anyways, the first thing she invited me to was a Party Lite party. If anyone remembers, two years ago I signed up with a soy candle company. I love their candles and have been using them for the past two years. I was too chicken to do a party. Well I really didn't even get the chance to because I was too chicken to even ask anyone I knew if they wanted to have a party. I sold a few things to some friends, but that was all. Then we moved and I really didn't know anybody. I'm too chicken to just walk up to someone and introduce myself. I didn't bother trying to sell candles after that. I just ordered them for myself. Well the party was fun, I did meet new people, and I realized that I could do this. I could have a party. It wasn't that hard. Then went to another party and talked with other people there. I talked to people I didn't know!! Then I went with her to a coffee club. There were forty+ women there and everyone was introducing themselves to people they didn't know, talking with people they did know, and so many people were coming up to me I started going to other people too. I was just walking around meeting people. Talk about way outside my comfort zone. Then this week there was a new girl at the busstop with her parents. I walked up, said hi and introduced myself! This is getting much easier. So anyways at the coffee club they had raffles and gave out prizes. I offered some of my votives for gifts at the next meeting. (Burning the party lite candles I bought at the parties reminded me of why I only burn my soy candles now.) I'm going to share the joy of my amazing candles. And while I was telling my friend about my revelation of being able to do a party myself the host of the coffee club jumped in and said she'd do a party! I figure if she books a party then there's no turning back. I will have to do it. I can't wait. It's exciting. I know I have a great product it actually sells itself. So there's my excitement of the week. I've been waiting to get it out. Thanks for listening.

The truck again

We were so excited that we didn't owe taxes this year. Last year we owed $2300. Long story. This year we were getting a nice check so we decided to fix up our bedroom. We bought our flooring and our bedroom furniture. Then we found out the Tahoe needed $2800 in repairs. Money in money out, easy come easy go. At least it didn't take the whole tax check. Although this may have put a stop to my trip to IL this summer. Bummer I was looking forward to it. Airline tickets are a little out of hand right now. Hope they come down soon. Hope everyone else is having a good tax season.

Our new floor

Last weekend we ripped up the SHAG carpet in out room. It's been almost two years since we moved in. The carpet was really cool until we moved in and I tried to vacuum it. Then the animals seemed to think it was grass. Let your imagination run with that one. You never really knew what you were stepping on or in. The pups did their thing then my male cat decided to let them know who's room it really was. This happened over and over again. We got our tax refund back and tore up the carpet.

I couldn't believe how many pee spots there were. Well actually I could it was just amazing to see all of it. They were peeing in spots I didn't even know they were peeing in! So yesterday we bought our new flooring and started installing it. Today we finished it. Yeah!!!

Not bad for doing it ourselves don't you think? In a week and a half we get our new bedroom furniture. I'll post pics when we get it. That's it for now.

babies, puppies, teeth and snow

I became a (step)grandmother yesterday. Zac had a little girl Adalyn Isabella. We got a brindle long hair chihuahua on Wednesday. He is 9 weeks old and his name is Bean. Angelina fell on her face last weekend and her two bottom teeth that were already loose got knocked almost out.
She layed on the couch for 8 hours with a washrag in her mouth and wouldn't let anyone near her mouth. She wouldn't let us touch them so they didn't fall out until Wednesday. It snowed in the desert. We got a couple inches of snow Wednesday and Thursday. The kids had a blast playing in it. Zane even got his first snowday from school. Here are a few pics the rest are on my photobucket.

cats and batteries

What a fun couple of days. Thursday I jumped in the tahoe to run up to the store and the truck didn't turn on. Nothing, no noise, clicking, nothing. So I go back inside tell hubby the truck won't turn on and grab the keys to the neon. Hopped in the neon and it made a clicking noise while trying to turn it on. Both batteries dead. Now that is too much of a coincidence for me, but I guess it must have been. The blazer(old reliable) started just fine. He jumped both cars just fine. So he replaced both batteries on Friday. Always fun.

So for about the last 5 days I have been cleaning diarrhea out of the cat box. Finally figured out who it was today. Poor thing has had diarrhea for 5 days and you can tell her rear is sore, she's walking bow legged and won't sit on her butt. Not that sitting is something she does often, but right now when she does she leaves a small mess where her bottom was. Get my drift. She is an obese, bed ridden blob. She gets worn out just trying to get to the food and cat box. Anyways, because she is so big she can't clean most of her body, that includes her rear. So today I have had the fun of chasing her and pinning her down to wipe her bottom. She doesn't like me today. I don't like me today. Very gross.

On another note, we've been adding to the house. We bought some nice ceiling fans for the kids rooms and some really nice fans for the kitchen and light fixtures. We decided to change the kitchen to silver , started looking at cabinet knobs and hinges. Then we got home and realized we really can't change the kitchen to silver. It wouldn't look right with the color of the cabinets, we didn't realize how many knobs and hinges we need,and don't have the money for that much remodeling. Very dissappointing. The fans and lights we picked out were awesome. I was so upset we had to take them back. We ordered the same fan, but in a bronze finish. We're going to try black and bronze for the kitchen. I can live with bronze. I really don't like the gold look. I think it looks cheesy and cheap. Any ways thanks for listening. More to come later.

I took the kids to get professional pics while Zak was here and I did get them back quite a while ago I just haven't been blogging much. Anyways, I chose the same pose as last year. I didn't want to, but that was the best picture. It is such a cute pose.

I posted some new pics on my photobucket album. The link is on the sidebar. It is always fun to go through old pictures and memories until you see a photo of yourself 20 pounds thinner from a year ago. That kinda ruins the whole good feeling. I have goals though. I want to lose those 20 pounds and at least 4 inches off my waist in three months. We will be visiting hubby's family for Thanksgiving hopefully and I don't want to look like the lazy housewife that I am.

Zane starts school Monday. He gets to go to a new school this year, and again the school is 15 minutes from here. There is another school 5 minutes from here, but they didn't zone us for that school. One lady was complaining that she had to drie past a couple schools before getting to the one her kids go to. Kinda screwy, but we're not in vegas anymore. Schools are built back to back there. You can't go two miles without passing another school. I can't wait for Monday. Don't get me wrong I love my kids, but they are at each others throats all day long. Angelina is starting to give me attitude the way Zane does. She imitates him and he doesn't understand that she wouldn't do these things if he didn't. She wants to go to school. Last year at the bus stop she used to get in line with the kids and try to sneak past me and get on the bus. She still has one more year at home before kindergarten.

I have another pic I took last week. Zane taught Angelina how to go under water. She wouldn't stop doing it after that.

OK. I think it's a cliche by now, but I'll say it anyways Bad Blogger!! Months have gone by but I assure you I have somewhat valid excuses. So anyways, besides stepson visits and school and now summer break which is vacation time anyways and now family in town and my own laziness all contribute to my abscence. I hope I spelled that right. If not don't tell me I don't want to know right now. I now firmly believe my true calling is digiscrappin. I have dove in to the deep end recently and been on my computer for as long as possible every possible chance I get. I seriously couldn't live without my computer. Any of you feel the same?! I'm sure almost all of you do. Well I do have a busy weekend, but I will be back Monday. I am makin kits and pages so there will be fun on the way. See you soon!!!!! love aj

Long time no write

There's always things to do. Seems like every week there's more and more housework to do. I've also noticed a few extra inches around my middle so I've been spending a lot of time on the internet looking at different diets and exercise routines. I've decided on just eating right (as much as I can). No diet will really work for me because I have no willpower, and there are certain things I just won't give up. I read that if you give your body all the nutrients it needs everyday it will stop cravings. We'll just see how that works out. Those m&ms on the counter and candy bars at the checkout get me all the time. Then of course there's the times you get stressed and chocolate just makes everything better. I have one of those gumball machines on my counter filled with m&ms for when the kids get rewards. I gave up on feeding that thing money. Somehow the kids always get 3 or 4 per coin, but I think the machine hates me because I only get 1 or 2. Now I just pop the top off and let the fountain of feel good flow. So I've also been reading a lot about nutrition and different ways to stop cravings. Angel and I take a walk or a bike ride every morning now too. That gives me a good boost in the morning. It makes me feel good about myself, very calming and quiet. Then the busy day gets underway. I also bought some weights to start some weight lifting a couple times a week. I like the weights because then you "feel the burn" and at least then I know I'm doing something. I prefer the walks over the bike ride. It's easier and I put her in a stroller so I can walk as fast as I want. The only problem is that I like to get the dogs out of the house too. They haven't quite figured out how to stay on the same side. Chili walks in front of me, which is good, so I can see her, but then she starts crossing in front of us and the leash gets caught under the stroller and that makes a big mess. Then you throw in Pepper who likes to walk either behind me and he also crisscrosses everywhere, or right next to the stroller which would be okay if he wasn't an inch from the wheels and consantly getting caught under the wheels too. I think untangling dogs should be an olympic sport. At least the bike ride doesn't include the dogs. She prefers the bike ride, but I can't go for as long on a bike, and I swear no atter which way I go I am always going uphill! Also who decided to put that dinky little seat on a bike. Having that seat up my butt doesn't help me make it up thos hills. I prefer to think of the seat as small rather than my butt's getting bigger. It makes me feel better;) Anyways I was hoping posting about my midsection trauma and my new goals might keep me motivated, not that looking down at my waist doesn't help motivate me, I'm just usually not looking down when shoveling m&ms into my mouth.

I also finally started a small garden! I've always wanted to grow flowers which is kinda weird because I don't like the smell of flowers. They are beautiful though. I did go back home one time and my mom had put some flowers in my room and one of them was a daylily. Suprisingly I liked the smell. I have tried to grow flowers many times from seeds, but they never make it. I see a little sprout and the next day it's dead. I know you can buy flowers already growing I just have this need to grow the from seeds. I even killed a couple houseplants years ago. The joke is that I could even kill a fake plant. ha ha ha. The kids and I bought some blooming flowers and I bought a couple of those bulbs in the baggies. We put them in pots for now, until I realized that I finally own my own yard! duh! So i picked a little corner in the yard to put our garden. I have to shovel out the decorative rocks, take up the tarp underneath, and scoop out the rocks underneath it too. But first!!! I needed to dig out a dead tree stump. I spent 3 hours digging and pulling, and tugging and scooping. Then I got hubby's saw and cut up the roots so I could pull them out individually. Those thing are like 3-4 feet long! Two days later and I am still stuck on the couch barely able to move. How's that for out of shape. It's not that bad because it's really windy out yesterday and today so I probably wouldn't have worked out there anyways. I am excited though. I'm hoping to have it ready this weekend for planting. Yeah go me!!! On to other things.

Yesterday we drove to Vegas to go to Chuck E. Cheese for Zane's bday and there was a lot of snow in the mountains so we pulled over and let the kids play for little while. I added the pics and some from xmas to my photobucket album.

Wow. Now that the holidays and birthdays are almost over I should have a little more spare time. Like the title says we'll see if I have any.
This is just a quickie cute little thing baby girl did the other night. About an hour and a half past bedtime she came out to the living room looking tired of course. I thought she had a bad dream or something like that. No, she just came out to tell us "My batteries are dead on my leapster, it needs new ones." In the moment it is really hard not to laugh at her realizing she had been playing video games since bedtime. I thought her brother told on her enough. He should play the big brother part better and tell her she's not supposed to tell on herself.

Unemployed?!

So far this morning I have been a maid, preschool teacher, chef, dog trainer (a very bad one), and a pooper scooper. Who said I was unemployed!? Besides what else would I do on my birthday? It's always just another day. Hubby brought me some cupcakes last night and we went out to dinner. Oh and we talked about my new laptop!!! Well I haven't got it yet. I saw a laptop on sale at Frys that is twice what my laptop is plus it's a touchscreen and it's only a 12" screen. I like compact easy to carry stuff. It's also the same price I paid for my current laptop last year. I am so excited. I love my electronics. Hubby knows that if he brings home the Frys ad I will find something I want. He should just stop bringing it home. So anyways, yesterday I made a trip into Vegas to see a friend of mine in town from NY for a convention. It was good to see her again. She is one of the few people I like to keep in touch with from back home. So after seeing her I went to Frys and of course the computer was out of stock. I got a raincheck. So now the waiting begins. I feel kinda selfish about it. I got a laptop last year for my birthday. I'm getting one this year too. You know what hubby did for his b-day? He drove. All day. His b-day fell on one of the days we were driving back from TX. He is hard to shop for too. The only thing he seems to want are Legos. But he hasn't had time to put together the Legos he got for christmas! Fry's just has such good sale items. The laptop is $300 off! I feel bad. Oh and also the disk drive broke on my current laptop. I spent 3 hours with sony on the phone, and they made it worse. The burner just wouldn't burn. So the first guy I talked to had me try a rewriteable disc and a cd. They both worked just not a regular dvd-r. By the time I got done with the second guy I couldn't burn to anything. So now they have to come out to me to replace the drive. A few months after I bought the laptop the hard drive crashed on it. I'm hoping the HP computer will work a little better. I am getting really frustrated with Sony.

We don't get to wear band aids

My hands get so dry my knuckles crack. I try to use band aids, but they just don't stay. I am not one of the lucky ones that gets to go to the bathroom every 3-4 hours or even every 2-3 hours. If you never thought of that as a lucky quality, it is. I have Interstitial Cystitus. Big words that mean I go to the bathroom a lot. So between washing my hands 2-3 times every hour, washing after wiping the 3-year-olds bottom for fear of streaks, dishes, picking up gooey things the dog chewed on(still not sure what it was), fixing dinner(chopping onions, tomatoes, scooping cheese and frying foods), then more dishes and baths and cleaning litter boxes, I don't get the luxury of band aids. I never thought I would miss them so much:( So on to other things.

Has anyone else bought the UB Funkeys for their kids yet (or for yourselves)? These are cute little figures that plug into your computer for a game. They have their own little world that you can wander around to find stuff, and each character has their own home that only they can get into(of course so you have to buy them all). Each home has a game you can play for money and a store to shop at because you get a room to decorate any way you want. The games are pretty basic games. My 3 year old plays it just fine by herself. The games are similar to mah jongg, space invaders, skee ball, bowling, ping pong, alleyway, and others I haven't found yet. I am enjoying them myself. Here is the Funkey site to check them out. They are still working out a few bugs, but the fixes download to your computer automatically when you open the game. It is a lot of fun to try and get the trophies and prizes for high scores. And the object of the game is to collect the gem shards scattered from the Great Disaster and defeat the evil Dr. Lox. Not quite sure how to do all that yet, but we're getting there. I love to play mah jongg. I'm into all those brain games like sudoku, kakuro and nonograms. Those are links to my favorite sites for those games. So anyways. Now they both want to be on the computer. So when Zane is home from school he is on the desktop and Angelina is on my laptop. Then hubby and I are left without. I think that puts us in the market for a third computer. We have had one picked out for quite a while now, but haven't splurged the $1500 yet. It's the new HP all-in-one. Hubby's stuck on the touchscreen. I love that there's no separate tower. It's kinda like a laptop that doesn't close. Very cool computer. Maybe christmas?! My little brother works for HP in TX, but I've never been close to him so it would be kind of rude to see if he could get us a discount.

Away for a while

It's been a busy couple of weeks, but I think I say that every time. My hubby's grandmother fell ill a few weeks ago so we made a trip to TX for a week. He decided on a Friday that we would leave Sat. morn. That was a crazy night pulling everything together. Our friends live in New Mexico which is a good halfway point in the trip so we stayed with them for a day each way. Zane was so happy to have Kaylan back and Angelina was so excited to see Libbie. The drive was ok. We bought a dvd player for the car again. The last time we drove to TX the dvd player didn't work so that was a very long drive and we did the drive in 3 days each way. This time we drove for a day stayed with the friends for a day and then drove the next day. It gave the kids a break in between driving. Anyways back to the dvd player. I only had the kids pick out about 10 movies thinking that would be plenty. Stupid me. How much harder would it have been to just bring the whole dvd book!?! The player was being picky about which movies it wanted to play. So we only had about 3 movies that played. I don't even know how many times I got to listen to Care Bears. So about 6 hours into the drive we stop at a Target to exchange it. This one was picky too. Then on the second day Angel's screen went to black and white and a little fuzzy. After everything it was still a good drive. The kids didn't fight too much, the dog was very well behaved in the car and the truck didn't break down or anything like that. It was good to see everybody. I like visiting his family. I even got to play with my nephew's 10 month old baby. It makes me think I want another one, but then my 2 start misbehaving and giving me attitude and the baby thoughts disappear. I want another one, but I can't imagine how crazy that will make me. I already can't take my eyes off the little girl for more than a few seconds. Think of the help she will try to give me. "Mama, I help you feed the baby!" , "Mama, I change baby's diaper." Funny thing is all the things that my children do and the things I fear they might do someone else's children have been doing. I was playing at http://www.godigitalscrapbooking.com/ yesterday for their birthday bash and found a comment in a chat about this ebay auction that you just have to read. So I went and read it and cried laughing through the whole thing. Here is the auction. So I went on to read her blog. If you think you have a busy day with your kids read this lady's blog! It will make you feel much better. I started at the beginning and am about halfway through it. Here is her blog: BECAUSE I SAID SO. Very funny stuff. To tempt your interest a little more, it all started out with a plain old baseball she sold on ebay for over $1100. On to other things. School seems to be going ok for Zane. He's riding the bus this year too. He hasn't had any major problems with it except that "all the other kids play their gameboys and nintendo ds's on the bus" and me being the obviously cruel mother that I am won't let heim take his gameboy. I'm not buying him another gameboy if this one breaks, gets lost, or someone steals it. That is just rewarding irresponsibility. He loves to draw so I let him take a notebook and some pens. Those are easy to replace and use a little more imagination than the gameboy does. Hey guess what we got the other day!!!! We finally got a swingset!!!!! The kids played on it for hours without fighting too much. Zane even pushed little girl on the swing a couple of times. The weather hasn't really cooled down much, but it will soon(I hope). We're still sitting at about 105 in the middle of the day. I did get a few scrap pages done in the past 2 weeks. I'll post those soon. For now here are a few recent pictures.

Biting and Beading

So last night hubby and I are watching a show while the kids are watching a movie in little boy's room. He comes running out of his room crying. Angelina bit him on the cheek for no good reason that I could find. She went straight to bed crying. She bit him so hard he still has the teeth marks right now. This morning we talked about how bad it was that she bit him and how she would feel if he bit her and that it's not nice and she really hurt him. About an hour later she kicked him in the stomach. Then about another hour after that she punched him in the stomach. Time outs don't seem to affect her. We spend most of the time trying to get her to stay still in her time out. Spanking doesn't bother her. The talking didn't seem to do much good either. The only thing she really can't stand is getting a smack on the hand, but then she still misbehaves later. I hate to be that parent that wishes school was never out, but it's just so much easier when he's in school. It's probably safer too. This 9 month school thing is terrible. In Vegas he was in a 12 month school and by the time he was bored at home it was time to go back to school and by the time he was tired of school it was time for a track break. It also made vacations easier. Anyways so there's only two weeks left till school starts. I will get a break from the two of them bickering and fighting, but that won't teach her to stop beating up on him. OK on to other things. I've been busy beading. I got a catalog from a bead store a couple days ago and I can't put it down. There are so many different beads and ideas and there all beautiful. I hope to get better at it too. I have some of my first creations on ebay auctions and my etsy shop . I am now having trouble dividing my time. I get started on beads and I just can't quit. Then I get started on digiscrapping and I just can't quit. I really need to work on my time management because I have been constantly obsessed with my ever growing middle section and want to get exercising again. After almost 4 years I can't call it baby fat anymore. My waist looks I'm a few months pregnant again! Of course you can't tell under my large sized clothes so everyone thinks I'm nuts. I'm not saying I'm fat by any means. I just have a larger waist than I want. Beading and digiscrapping don't help any. I need to get more active. I took the kids to the park this morning and we were only there an hour before I was exhausted. It seems no matter how much sleep I get I'm still tired. I know B vitamins are supposed to help. I'm bad about taking pills on a regular basis. Well I need to go now. I will be uploading more pictures to my album soon and am starting a digiscrapping week so stay tuned.

A candle sale and a freebie list

Well the Festival was very boring. There weren't many people there, but I really didn't expect many either. I sold a few votives, passed out a few catalogs, and sweated out about 5 pounds. I will never do a booth in the middle of summer again. 110 degrees by 10:00. I did close up a little early. I was out there from 7am to 5pm. My stomach wasn't feeling that well. It was probably the heat. I did get to meet The Man of Pahrump. He was a self made millionaire by 37, a financial planner, a realtor, owned a bank at one point. He is that person that knows everybody of importance. He is also a number junkie. In less than 10 seconds he told me how old I was in seconds. He did the same for my family. A very knowledgable person. He was very interesting to talk to. So anyways I still have lots of candles in my closet.

Long time no write

Well we did get the house and we moved about 5 weeks ago. It was a horrible mess, but moving always is. We were only in 1 week before our friends that moved to NM back n October came to visit for a weekend and my stepson came to visit for three weeks too. It's been so busy. We are still unpacking and just now getting to putting decorations up. This weekend is our town's Freedom Festival. We haven't been to a festival in a very long time. I am setting up a booth on Saturday with my candles. I am hoping to sell out what I have collected since I started and hopefully take some orders too. I am a little nervous. I am putting a lot of faith in these candles to help pay the bills. I love the candles, but I know some people will think the prices are a little steep. I thought that too until I used one. The quality makes them worth it. Plus Yankee Candles are just as expensive and those do turn your jar all black. I am not sure of my ability to convince people. I think the candles will speak for themselves, but I am still nervous. Also I am only doing a booth on Saturday. I know there will be more people there on Sunday, but I have a family and I want to spend Sunday at the festival with them. Also there will be fireworks on Sunday. My mom will be visiting next week also. It's been hectic since we moved.
I am sure things will settle down soon. I will be getting back into scrapping soon too. I am itchin to make some pages, and I can't wait to get back into designing kits. I was having fun making them and learning all there is to learn to become a great designer. I will be moving this blog soon to wordpress because they have a lot more features. Does the chaos ever end?

We didn't move. Not really a big surprise. I moved our loan to a different lender. Those bozos never got the papers to me. They don't even do FHA loans! So what were they doing these past weeks? Very good question. I don't know. I don't even think they know. So anyways. This new lender sat down with us on the first day and talked us through all the paperwork and got moving. In that one day he did more than the bozos did in 4 weeks! We did have to get another extension on our closing date. I feel better about it all though. We are not being rushed. We should start moving next weekend. I would say cross your fingers, but the new lender knows what he is doing so I have no fears now.

Check this out! Her name is Chili. Our newest baby at 8 weeks old.

Isn't she just the cutest! If anyone has advice on training let me know. She will mostly be an indoor dog so I need her to go on the puppy pads for now then eventually work up to going outside. Right now I watch her and if she does go on the carpet I move her immediately to the pad like the package says to do. It doesn't seem to be helping yet. Advice?

We also painted Angelina's toenails for the first time. She thought that was the greatest.

Oh happy day! So I sold some more candles last night. Yippee!! I put some votives in new fragrances in the bags with the jars I sold as gifts. Last night one of the gals called and ordered jars of each new fragrance and votives in three different scents!!! I feel good. I've had a slow start with the candles because of all the other things going on right now so this was a real boost. The candles are so worth it. Like I said I love getting a new scent each month. I can't wait to move so I can find a show to do. I think that would be a lot of fun.

Oh I need recipes. I make a lot of candy, cookies and other sweets so I have a lot of bags of chocolate chips in my cabinet. In the last few weeks it got really hot in that cabinet for some reason. I have many bags of melted chocolate now. Any recipes that call for melted chips would be great. I love treats that are made with cereal and anything made with caramel.

On another note. I was thinking during my many hours on the computer searching for the most effective and cheapest ways to market my candle sight that many other people are out there looking for the same answers I am. I will be starting a blog about internet marketing soon to help out others. I can give my experiences using certain products and software, which ebooks helped me the most, etc. My quest to really find out what works without all the hype to sift through. I'll let everyone know when I get it up. It might take some time because I want to set up a newsletter too. I've got lots of ideas I just need to take action.

Candles, internet marketing, and kids

When do you realize your kids are growing up? Not necessarily that they don't need us, but when they start to do things for themselves. Hubby and I stayed up the other night playing cards and talking. Around midnight I got up to go get ready for bed and noticed the fridge was open. My 3 year old got herself a drink of water in the middle of the night instead of calling to me to bring her water like she usually does. It was kind of upsetting like my little girl didn't need me, but I know that is not true it just felt like it. It was also a little weird to think that she might be getting up in the middle of the night while the rest of us are sleeping. My boy is a little less self-sufficient, but that comes from years of me babying him. He is 7 and just now starting to pour his own cereal and milk. Not that there is anything wrong with me making his breakfast. It is just one of those things.
Any suggestions on attitude adjustments. Like how to do it without losing your mind? Little girl has always had her own attitude good and bad. However lately she has become very bossy and pushy. She now talks back to me. Little things like "ok, ok, ok" , "fine" , or just a plain old "no". Little boy isn't helping much. I tell him to do something like make his bed or brush his teeth and he doesn't do it. I tell him a second time and he still doesn't do it. So I tell him a third time with force behind my voice and then he throws a fit about having to do stuff he hates to do. I have sat down with him and explained the importance of taking a shower or brushing your teeth good, but that never gets through to him. Every night and day we go through me telling him many times to do the same thing and ends in a frustrating yelling match(power struggle). Oh the woes of childhood.
Well I've sold my first jar candles! I sold three to two friends both avid candle burners. I haven't had a lot of time to "get out there" and sell since we are still going through a huge mess with trying to buy a house. Notice the trying to buy a house not buying a house. More on that later. So anyways I also got a new scent in the mail the other day. I love the Candle of the Month club. I get new candles to my door every month. This months is Ginger & Cedarwood. I didn't think much of the name because I'm not much for outdoor type smells, but I guess the ginger in it made up for it. This one smells great. It's a very clean scent. My favorite is still Peach & Papaya. I donated gift certificates to my son's school for Teacher Appreciation Week gifts. Hopefully that will generate some sales and it helps out the PTA that's on a budget. When I get out to my son's new school I will be jumping out of my comfort zone and talking to every mom on the playground! I will be looking for a child to babysit during the day to supplement our income while I get the candles moving and it will give little girl someone to play with. So on to the house details. Well we are supposed to move this coming weekend, but we still don't have loan documents signed. The lenders have been twiddling their thumbs for over 4 weeks now. My realtor said we either have loan documents in escrow tomorrow morning or we go to another lender. We'll see what happens. A lot of waiting. The stress was driving me crazy and killing my bladder condition. It flares up with stress. I'm not sure why. I am now sitting back waiting somewhat calmly. I really want this house, but if they can't get papers to me then I guess I'm not moving. Although I am just a day away from living out of boxes. We have packed nearly everything except for daily use items. It would be a shame to have to unpack it all. I don't think we will have to, but I have to look at this from all angles. We already had to get an extension on our closing date. We shall see.

I have been scouring the internet for the past two months looking for ways to promote, advertise and generally just get my website out there. I love these candles and I know everyone else will love them too. What's not to love? They're all natural soy, virtually soot free, over 90 incredibly strong scents!!! My husband has no problem with me working from home with the candles because he knows I won't just fall into some scam. He knows I'm smarter than that so he trusts my judgement. But the other night I was at our table showing the candles to some of our new neighbors and my hubby joined in the sniffing. Our candles are so strong you can smell them through the plastic baggies I keep them in. He complimented the candles saying that he didn't realise just how good they are. That was one of those little confidence boosters that make you feel all good inside! Anyways, I have spent a long time looking at what websites have worthwhile information or affordable advertising. Long time no see

Thank you for showing concern anonymous. It's feels good to know I was missed. Yes it has been a very long time since I posted. We are in the process of buying a house. If anyone else out there has bought a house before I know I don't need to say anything more. I have been packing and fighting with loan officers (another story) while still controlling daily life. Although I really don't feel in control of anything. Angelina has tumbling classes, Zane is in Karate, I am trying to get my soy candle business going and still do daily housework. And I hate housework more than anything. The last couple weeks have just flown by. I spent a lot of time on my computer (very sorry it wasn't with all of you) creating and printing flyers for the soy candles and the work from home business, making informational packets to do fundraising for organizations and schools, making flyers of gift sets for realtor "thank you" gifts, making my website My Candle Dreams, calling many, many people and organizations to send the info packets to, and oh my goodness trying to find good free or cheap advertising for my website. There is a drawing for a FREE 16oz jar candle and a soy body bar on my site. So now on to my house. What a mess. When you tell someone you only have a certain amount of money why would they think you have more. No one seems to understand this. No one has met with me to explain anything about home loans. People I have never owned a house before! Don't send me papers in the mail to sign with a note to ignore that the % is wrong and backdate my signatures. My realtor seems to be the only one trying to help me, but it is not her job to explain loan stuff to me. We are supposed to close on the 20th. I am so excited. This house is just perfect for us. I have probably already said that, but I can't help it. It is so perfect for us! It will be so nice to have a yard for the kids to play in and it's enclosed so little girl can't leave if she wants to. I am so frustrated with her. Still not potty trained. I gave up on diapers. I figure if I keep switching back it doesn't teach her anything. She likes to wear big girl underwear, but that doesn't seem to be enough. I have bribed her with everything, and taken away everything. Just today she was sitting on the floor, looked up at me, smiled, and said with glee "I peed". And that she did. Such defiance in a little one. This whole defiance thing is terrible. No matter what she is told to do the first thing she does is the opposite unless she says no first. How can this cute, adorable, sweet little angel be so difficult. And the energy! Why can't I have that kind of energy. I would have no problem getting my housework done. She gets up around 6:30 and is non stop energy and trouble till about 5 when she either turns into the devil or falls asleep before dinner. Zane just came off spring break. I thought having another child would be a good thing for Zane to have someone to play with. They fought the whole break. She broke this, she hit me, she touched that, she looked at me funny, she's bossing me. All you hear from Angelina is constant screaming since Zane and I won't let her do anything and everything she wants. We did have fun coloring eggs Sunday. Daddy found this egg coloring kit for tye dye eggs. It was really neat. The eggs looked so cool. Zane had fun doing something different than just dipping them. We really didn't do anything for easter. All friends and family are quite a ways away. We did go to the movies. We saw Meet the Robinsons. That was such a cute movie. We all loved it! Well it's time to get Zane from school. I will hopefully have time to post pictures later. Bye everyone.

Potty training, candles, and freebies

So my three year old(that I have been tryingto train for almost a year) decided to go potty all by herself for two days. Just out of the blue she was in the bathroom calling me because she peed in the potty. She still pooped in her pants, but one thing at a time. The third and fourth days she pooped in the potty and peed in her pants. Today is the fifth day and she's not doing anything now. I've tried stickers and potty charts, candies, praise, and disapproval. She isn't swayed by much. She does enjoy the stickers, candy and hugs, but that doesn't make her want to use the potty. Many parents told me to just put her in real underwear and she won't like the feeling when she goes in her pants, therefore she will want to use the potty. Not my girl. She just sat in it until she told me or I noticed. I do take her potty every half hour, but she will hold it until she is off the potty. Literally she will be wet or dirty by the time she leaves the bathroom. She is very stubborn, hard headed, difficult, and independent. Any suggestions? I am seriously at a loss here. In other news:

I now have a job again, although I think this one will be a lot more fun and I don't need a babysitter. It's not really a job. It's a business. I joined the Scent-Sations team. What a week

Well, realtor called. They definitely don't want to sell dream house for our price. I'm still going to hope that the house doesn't sell for a while. That will give me a few options. They might lower the price again in a few months or I might be able to save some more money for the down payment or each month we can send our offer again until they give in. I don't think our realtors or the owners would appreciate that last one, but it would make me feel better!

Now on to my busy week. So last week our upstairs neighbor's water heater broke and soaked through little girls bedroom wall and carpet and our storage room. It's been such a mess. First they had to come in and tear out parts of the wall and ceiling to assess the damage and let it dry out. That took about 3 days. Then they had to fix the wall and ceiling and texture it. The texture had to dry before it can be painted so that took a couple days. Then the whole family got stomach flu, but of course not at the same time. So the painting is put off until Tuesday. Little boy was sick Wed. and Thurs. Little girl was sick Thurs. and Fri., and still had messy diapers until yesterday. Then hubby and I were sick Tues. and Wed. Also a rock hit our windshield Monday and put a good size crack in it. So I also have a glass person coming to see if they can fix the crack today hopefully. Also little boy had his karate testing Friday to become an orange belt and a friend of mine from back home was in town for the weekend. She was here on business so the only day she had free time was Friday. I haven't seen her in 7 years so I really didn't want to miss this opportunity. I guess she didn't want to pass it up either because she came with to the karate testing so we could catch up. She's so wonderful. Busy busy busy.

As always I have been looking for anything I can do at home to make money. I found these gourmet soy candles that you can become a distributor for. They sent me a couple scent samples that are amazing. The scent is so strong. They are supposed to be "clean burning" meaning you won't have that black soot on the jar, walls, or ceiling. They are also supposed to be longer lasting. I need to buy a couple to really check them out, but I'm already excited. I love candles. I hate that the scent is strong when you buy it, but not when you burn it. so I can't wait to give these a try. Has any one used the Mia Bella candles before? If so please tell me what you think so I can get some opinions on whether I should try this or not.

Little boy is now an orange belt! I don't have any pictures yet. He missed his first class because hubby and I were both to sick to take him. He made it to class last night, but he was always facing away from me. I'll get some Monday.

I love the lists because you find so many more scrappers with great kits for free or for sale and different layouts and ideas on different aspects of scrapping. I have so many ideas for journaling and layouts and for my own kits. I can't wait to get started. Like I've said before I just started making my own kits and I have a long ways to go to be as good as these other scrappers. Hanging by a thread

Well my realtor called yesterday. The good news is the other couple is not competition any more. They still have a house to sell here in Vegas that they haven't even put on the market yet so the owners have denied their offer. The good/bad news is that they counteroffered for us. It's good that they're a little flexible, but their counteroffer puts our monthly payment out of our reach. So on Valentine's day, which is supposed to be a happy day, I had to call my realtor and tell her that no I can't afford my dream house. But at least the wondering was over. Now we could move on to look at other houses. So I thought. My realtor called back a little bit later. The owner's realtor asked if the owners agreed to our price would we definitely buy the house. Well of course we would otherwise we wouldn't have made that offer. So this makes it seem like the owners really want to get the house sold. So I still have a chance. This is driving me crazy.

Anyways, here's a pic of our newest addition to the family.

Her name is Dew. So now we have Scooby and Dew. Yes it was intentional and hubby wanted to spell it that way. We were supposed to eventually have Scooby and Shaggy, but Shaggy didn't seem to fit a girl and I was the only one that wanted to name her Daphne. Isn't she cute?! Scooby seems much happier now that he has someone to play with.

Angelina got her first haircut last week. I know I should've done it sooner. She only got a trim, but we cut her some bangs because her hair wouldn't stay out of her face.

Oh and I got a coverup done on one of my older tattoos. It wasn't done real well in the first place and you couldn't read the name on it anymore. It looks much better now.

House hunting and some new kits

We have decided it's time to buy a house. I've been looking online picking ones out that we want to look at. I've been looking at the same house for quite a while now, but we needed to wait until we had our down payment money. We just got the money on Thursday so we went Sunday to look at houses. I was right. The house we were looking at online is definitely our dream house. While we were looking at it another couple showed up to look at it. It was a little uncomfortable. They put in an offer the same time we did. You never know if other people have put in offers so you don't really think about them, but we know for sure that this couple did. It is driving me nuts. Headaches and stomachaches. I can't handle this waiting and not knowing. Hubby says I shouldn't get my hopes up. They are an older couple so they probably have more money to offer or more for a down payment. My hopes were up months ago when I first found the house online. So everybody please think of me and my dream house. I need all the help I can get right now.

On to other stuff. I have a new kit for sale. I needed a basic kit for Zane's karate pics. So I made one. It's basic colors on some basic elements and I made the belt colors. It is for sale in my Etsy shop. Here's the preview and my first layout with it.

Lots of new stuff

This is Scooby. Isn't he cute?! We just got him last week. He is just a baby 11 weeks old. The 3 cats aren't sure what to think of him. Jabba probably doesn't even know he exists because she never leaves the bed except to eat and eat more. Christmas is scared of his own shadow. He sniffs at him a little, but jumps away if Scooby gets too close. Pooshoe is a little more curious about him, but she keeps her distance too. And of course the fish are oblivious to the world around them except for when Angelina shoves her face against the tank and says hi to them. (I don't think they like that.)

Zane started karate classes. The picture is him getting his first belt. He seems to like it most of the time. I think it's great. Angelina loves to watch him so we put her in her own karate class at the rec center. We're trying to prep her for the real thing. She can be evaluated at 3 1/2 years old to see if she is ready for full time class. She seems to think she is ready. I'll post pics later of her class.

No job, but no free time either

I figured since I quit my job I would have a lot more free time. I have never been more wrong. I have not stopped running this past month. Besides normal housekeeping there was Christmas and then little boy's birthday yesterday. The party is today. Friday night at Chuck E Cheeses. This will be interesting. Buy stock in Tylenol now. Also I have had to invest time and money into some electronics. My 2 weeks from electronic hell. Well I told you about my laptop crashing. That got fixed, but then my printer decided it needed servicing and Epson told me to just buy a new printer. So I had to go out printer shopping. You know find the right one at the cheapest price. Then I was changing some of the filter media on our salt water fish tanks filter and when I plugged it back in it didn't work any more. So $150 on a new fish filter and $80 on a new printer. Ok so maybe it was some horrible coincidence or bad timing on my part, but you will see soon that the electronic thing is a curse. I went to visit some friends in the next town over and we went to rent some movies. Her car wouldn't start back up to get us home. Ok do you see now! It was me. I don't know who cursed me or why, but I have a brand new camera so they better lay off!

Lost voice. . .Reward offered

Today is my 4th day without a voice. The whole family has a nasty cold and sinus infections. Do you have any idea how hard it is to control two wild children with no voice!?! I've never cared much for my voice because I sound like a kid, but I don't think this squeaking and silence is much better.
On to a bit of catching up.
The computer. I reformatted the laptop and it came up ok. So I started saving favorites and loading programs and all that fun stuff. The next morning it was all gone again. Sony was sending someone to put a new hard drive in it. In the meantime I reformatted again. I figured it only takes an hour and then each day I can still web surf from the couch. The sony guy came friday. He installed a new drive, but the computer wouldn't recognize it. They sent me a faulty drive. So another guy came out yesterday and the drive sony sent him was for a desktop not a notebook. Now someone is supposed to come out tomorrow hopefully to install a new drive. I'll believe it when I see it at this point. But since I reformatted the second time it hasn't gone out again. The sony guy yesterday actually asked if I still wanted a new drive since this one has been working the last couple days! Of course I do! Who knows when it will go out again.
Zane has been doing fine with his tongue crib. Getting it in was horrible. It had to be cemented onto his back molars. He screamed a lot and bit the dentist twice, but he got it in. It only took a couple of days for him to get used to it. It's just a small metal wire set behind his front top teeth to keep his tongue from pushing on them.

We had snow this morning!!! There wasn't much left on the ground when the kids got up, but they still went and played with it. I don't miss snow, but I want the kids to know what it's like to play in it. Although Zane got tired of it kinda quick. They both slipped and fell a couple times. Zane didn't like being cold and wet. One good snow a year wouldn't hurt.

Zane and Angelina had their last classes at the rec center this week. Zane was in a karate class and Angelina was in a tumbling class. Angelina would follow the teacher on the sidelines of Zane's class. I think she would be good in the karate class too. I'm planning to put both of them in regular karate classes in January.

Well I think I better do something productive before the day is done. Bye for now.

there are no words to describe today

Last night was my last night of work. I am officially a housewife and mother again as of this morning. This morning I woke up with pink eye, spent a miserable day running errands hoping I wouldn't get in a wreck because I was driving with only one eye, then finally had a moment to sit and relax. Turned on my laptop: Windows cannot open because a file is missing or corrupt. Sony says they cannot recover my hard drive. The company they suggest for that says it costs around $2000. The internet says I would need to disassemble my laptop and hook it up to my desktop and hope I don't severely wreck both in the process. Sony wants to try to reformat next. I have worked for months on that laptop building my AJs Sweet Treats website and brochures, scrapbooking pictures of this year, creating a new digital scrapbook kit, and many other various things. Yes I know to backup, but between home (cooking, cleaning, homework, disciplining, grocery shopping) and work (3 nights a week and weekends) I haven't had much free time. I swear I have a post it note on the desktop monitor that says backup my documents desktop and laptop, pictures and scrapkits. I just hadn't done it yet. If I had I would have had no problem reformatting. I cried hysterically for about 2 hours then hubby got home and I had to somewhat gain composure so it has been on and off for about another 2 hours. Needless to say that freebie I promised is not going to be available for a while. hopefully nothing happens to my sweet treats site because I don't have the file for that either. I will hopefully have the time and energy to post updates as they come along. Thanks for listening. This has been a very emotional day and I am ready for bed. good night.

Zane's big day

We left at 7:30 this morning headed for the dentist. Zane had some major work to be done. I guess I didn't start him flossing soon enough. He had a lot of decay between his teeth. I do too. I don't floss enough either, but my dentist visits will be another story. He had to be sedated for the work to be done. He was given a drink that made him woozy then they took him to the back for an hour and a half. I thought it would be much longer. 7 crowns and 2 fillings later we sat in a recovery room for another hour and a half waiting for him to wake up. Then we spent an hour getting him to wake up a little bit. He felt much better after he threw up. My poor baby. As he was waking up he mumbled something about "I didn't get my 9 minutes of sleep". I asked him a couple of times (because he was so out of it) who said he gets 9 minutes of sleep. Very calmly he said "I did." It was a very light moment in the midst of his recovery. He is ok now. Although still tired and throwing up even with nothing in his tummy, he has managed to put together three little 3d dinosaur puzzles. He amazes me sometimes. These things are tiny pieces of plastic that interlock to make a 3d dinosaur. Tiny. Tiny. So anyways Monday he goes in to get a tongue crib put in. He has a habit of pushing his front teeth forward when talking, breathing, and swallowing. It's called tongue thrust. It will be interesting to see how he does with it. It will be permanently cemented to molars on his top teeth. This will prevent his tongue from pushing on those top teeth anymore and give them a chance to go back down where they belong. Well I must get ready for work now.

I have spent the last 4-5 weeks updating my AJs Sweet Treats website and brochure for the holiday season. If anybody needs holiday gifts I make great sweets and gift baskets. I also added some new treats to the menu. It was very time consuming. But I have a sense of accomplishment now. I can move on to other things now.
I will be switching over to the beta blogger soon. Hopefully today. After that I should have a new freebie for those digiscrappers. I hope everyone likes them. I am still pretty new to designing. I feel that I am learning a lot.
Hubby started a new job last week. So far so good. . . I mean great. . . I mean wow. The pay is better, the insurance is better and cheaper, retirements funds are better. He actually works for a real company. Only downfall is I have to leave my job now. His pay raise will more than cover what I make at my part time job. I had planned to leave after the holidays. Today I was scheduled to work, but hubby called and said he has to work late. I had to call in to work. This is his first week of work and already my job has gotten in the way. I will be writing my resignation letter after I post this. Very sad. I have been working for this store for over 2 years now. On and off for almost 6 years.
It won't be so bad on my end because now I can spend more time with my family. I think they are tired of leftovers and tv dinners.
Enough for now. Baby girl wants to ride her new bike. I'll post bday pics next.

I don't think I've ever been tagged before. Here goes:

9 weird things/habits about myself

1. I have to eat breakfast before I do anything else in the morning. That includes showering so please let me eat first.
2. My midnight feeding of cereal does not count towards #1.
3. I cannot get dressed in the morning without having a shower first. Showering at night does not count. I will still feel really gross in the morning.
4. Most of the time I won't remember something if it only happened once. For example, movies. If I only watch it once I won't remember anything about it and that's only if I even remember that I watched it.
5. I go through a major spring cleaning thing once a month. Guess when that happens;)
6. Someone mentioned my excessive handwashing. I never thought about it before, but I do wash my hands constantly.
7. Hate feet. Very disgusting body part. (except baby feet, but only to about age three then they are disgusting too)
8. My cat sleeps on my pillow with me, and it doesn't bother me. The fat one. (fat cat not fat pillow)
9. I can't put any kind of pants on right after shaving. I have to wait for the lotion to fully absorb in maybe an hour or two before I can put pants on. Otherwise very uncomfortable. Yes I love summertime.

Battlescars and Princesses

Ok I lied. After 3 1/2 hours of shampooing my carpets while doing laundry I wasn't up for anything else. I was so tired I don't even remember what I did the rest of the day. One big blur in my memory. I know I did something. It is really hard for me to not do anything. There is always so much to do. I think I sewed up Zane's halloween costume. Angelina tried hers on a week ago, but she didn't want to wear it. Cinderella's wedding dress. It was strange because she loves to dress up in anything. I was worried I would have to get her a different costume. Angelina picked out Cinderella to watch Friday afternoon. Whenever a movie ends she usually wants to watch it again. The second time around it hit me at the end to show her the dress next to the tv. The part where she is wearing the wedding dress isn't on for very long so I ran down the hall to get the bag of costumes and raced back to the living room while wrestling with Zane's costume to get hers out in time. It worked! She put the dress and veil on and ran around the house in it for a while then she admired herself in the mirror for about 10 minutes. I had to fight her to get it off. Isn't she cute!!!

Like my comet? That was my arm on Friday. On Friday that bruise was already a week old. Battlescars from a Queensryche concert. It was a great concert though. I was at the bar getting beers and someone leaving the bar area let the bar door fall down on my arm. I already had a few drinks in me so at least it didn't hurt that much. It has been quite the talk though. Lots of questions on how it happened.

Isn't she pretty?! Little head, big body. Kinda like those toy dog stuffed animals that came out a few months ago. Or the Littlest Pet Shop toys. Except backwards. The last time I weighed her she was 16 pounds. I think she might be more now. I should go. Hubby is cleaning the kitchen after the usual Sunday football BBQ. He cooks I clean. I'm slackin today. Bye

Busy as always

Well we got the truck back for a fee of course. $700 this time. Next time will be about $350 or so I'm told by my mechanic. He already found another problem we will need to get fixed soon. There's always something. Well eventually it will have to stop because my 1999 truck is nearly brand new again. Fuel pump this time. Transmission (oh yeah the big one) last time. Everything in front under the hood (and the hood!) from an inexperienced driver in front of hubby. Don't slam on your brakes and immediately do a u-turn in the middle of the road when someone is behind you. They will be mad.
So anyways, because of the truck I got to walk the kids to school, but only a couple of times. Not a bad walk about 40 min both ways twice a day. Enough to make me tired and lazy the rest of the day. Thankfully computers don't mind laziness. I have been furiously working on my AJ's Sweet Treats website and new brochures. Then I want to make them a little more friendly for the holidays.
Two difficult children keep me pretty busy too. They're both sick. Noses are running, coughing galore, let the whining begin. Poor things feel awful. Baby girl sat and cried at dinner. That was for two reasons though. She is sick and she doesn't listen. You can say no in as many different words, tones, volumes and actions, but she will still do anything she wants. Today she got spanked and laughed at me. I spanked her again and she gave me the evil glare. All I can do is send her to her room. I don't feel that solves anything. When she is allowed to come back out she does the same things that got her in trouble in the first place. The only thing it accomplishes is that I get a break from telling her no 50 more times.
I will hopefully wrap up the last digiscrap kit I was working on and get a freebie posted from it. Maybe Monday. Tomorrow I get to shampoo the carpets. I think I should sleep in tomorrow. See everybody tomorrow. No really I will post tomorrow too. I have a new picture of my fat kitty Jabba to share with you.

I've been a bad blogger I know. There's just not enough hours in the day, but even if there were more I would probably spend them attempting to sleep. I have spent the last 3 weeks reworking my candy store AJ's Sweet Treats. I think it looks much better. If anybody checks it out please leave me a comment to let me know what you think. I will probably spend another week making it a little more festive for the upcoming Christmas season. I'll let everyone know when that is ready. I'm still coming up with new recipes so maybe I will have a few more to add to the menu soon. When it rains it pours (literally)

Wow what a couple of days. Everything was going just fine until Thursday afternoon. I was waiting in the school parking lot for the kids to get out. Nothing out of the ordinary. When the kids got in the truck stopped running. Then it wouldn't start back up. Big problem. So I try to call hubby. It usually takes a couple of tries because his phone doesn't work and tells me the call can't be completed as dialed. Finally get through. He's at Walmart. Good, I told him to get jumper cables and meet me. Then call other mom to come get the kids. Three kids and a broken truck is not a good situation. Truck didn't jump. He gets tow strap. I've never towed anything before. I thought 10 mph was pretty slow. Guess not. I snapped the tow strap in 2 pieces. Truck sits in neighborhood overnight. Next day is pouring rain. Hubby came home early because they got rained out on the jobsite. But the blue truck that he is driving has no working wipers. So he drives home on the highway with all the crazies that don't know how to drive in rain, because it doesn't rain much in the desert, without wipers. Tow truck comes 4 hours later. It made it to the shop. Wow $617 plus tax. Hope that includes the tow. Then I have to drive to work in the rain with the no wiper blue truck. The good thing is that we will get the truck back today. Besides all that I am waiting to here if I got accepted for the health insurance I applied for. I have to get independent insurance so hubby can change jobs. Changing jobs is going to be quite an ordeal all by itself. Also found out recently the neighbors we've been friends with for 6 years are moving to TX. Lots of changes going on right now. It has been very stressful. On the bright side I'm going to see Queensryche tonight and Rancid tomorrow night. Then I got Sunday off too. Yipeeeeee. A whole weekend off with lots of things to do. I have to prepare for the early morning yard sale tomorrow also. When will it end?! I got some great pictures of a double rainbow yesterday.

Wow what a week. Let's start with some background info. I have been wanting a laptop. Really really bad. My friend and I have been making wisecracks to my hubby about getting me a laptop. A couple months ago we were in Fry's (love that place) and there was a hot pink laptop. Mind you I hate pink, but this thing was so cute. He told me that if I really wanted it to go ahead and get it. He knows I'm too responsible for that. I know I don't need it. I just really want it. I passed it up quite a few times. Two weeks ago we were at Fry's again (we go there a lot). I was content not to drool over laptops that day, but for some reason he turned into that dreaded section. He was looking at them and asking a lot of questions. I just figured he was trying to learn more so he could help me make an educated decision when the time came. The following Sunday (yeah football's on again!!!!!) as we watched football we (me, hubby, friends and children) looked through the paper. Hubby brought to my attention Office Depot had a Sony Vaio laptop on sale for $700 after rebates. It had all the specifications I wanted and I love my Sony Vaio desktop so I kinda wanted to stick with them. Well playful banter ensued the whole day as the ad sat on the coffee table for the rest of the day. I did see him pick up the ad quite a few times. He finally told me to go get it. It took me awhile to believe him. I thought it was some kind of test to see how unresponsible or selfish I could be. Well Happy Birthday to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Tuesday the 19th) I arrived home with my new present around 6:30pm. I got one of the last two in all of the Las Vegas/Henderson area after they closed at 6pm. Then hubby told me the next day that he was asking all those questions at Fry's because he was going to bring one home on Tuesday to suprise me. He didn't know which one I wanted though because I wouldn't make up my mind! The Sony was such a good deal though he couldn't pass it up. I love my hubby. Well I love him anyway, really I do. So today I write you from my new toy. I at least hope somebody is reading this to share in my immense joy.
But back to my busy week. I have a wonderful new laptop now, but it doesn't do much yet. I need to set up the wireless connection so I can browse net and I need to connect to my desktop so I can use my extra hard drive space and my printer. It would be quite a task to move all of digiscrappin stuff. Well I spent the first day trying to connect to the internet and failed every time. I have never messed with wireless except bluetooth for my phone. My hubby finally talked me into calling tech support. Yes it has free 24/7 support. I wanted to feel accomplished in doing it myself. I need that satisfaction. I was nearly in tears because I could not figure this out. I am not a stupid person, but this made me feel really bad. Well calling didn't make me feel much better. I talked to some Indian lady with an accent so heavy I could not understand her. We were both so tired of me saying what we ended up yelling at each other halfway through. We finally made it. I was connected. I don't know what we did, but it better never happen again. So, day 2 with the laptop. I needed to connect with my desktop. All day and nothing. I had an overwhelming feeling of disappointment in myself again. Gave up late called tech support. I so did not want to do that after my last call. This guy's accent wasn't so bad, but I still didn't want to be talking to him. That was ok he wasn't going to talk to me anyway. They don't support file sharing. On the box of the router it talks about how great it is to share your files between computers and how easy it is. But they don't support it. He gave me an internet address to look up to help me, but that is all he could do. So I fought with file sharing all day 3. Ok so day 4 I do some strange things I've never done before because a couple help sections told me to. Whatever I did it was scary, but it worked. I now have internet and file sharing!!!!!!!!! Oh happy day. Now I have time to play, but wait hubby calls with some bad news. Health insurance is going up to $1500/month! I don't even use it that much. So now instead of playing on my new toy I spend the rest of day 4 and all of day 5 looking for our best options for insurance. Ok so now I have a few to apply for. I'm playing tomorrow. Crud I have to work Sat and Sun. So I write to you this very late Sat because right now I don't care how late it is I wanna PLAY! Well actually I will be going to bed soon. I still have to work tomorrow. But at least I got to blog. I don't do that often enough to begin with so not having my computer time just made it even worse. So anyways I might actually get to work on my next digiscrap kit this coming week. Hope to have something for my scrapping fans soon if I have any. My Splash Baby

I attended my first online crop Monday. It was fun to sit and chat with other people doing the same thing I am doing. Although it seemed like a few of them knew each other (probably from being in many other chats). I didn't know what some of them were talking about, but that's ok because they started trivia questions for everyone to answer. The questions were about designers like when they started designing for a certain site or when they first started digiscrappin. I got the first question right with the help of high speed internet. I quickly browsed through pages for the answers. I won a free kit. It was fun, and I hope I have more time to do more of them. So anyways I did finish a layout of Angelina at the pool using the kit I got from the crop. The purple, blue, and green in the kit perfectly match her swimsuit.
I have put links to my layout galleries in the sidebar. I am also going to try out slide.com. I have seen many blogs with their kits or layouts or both in a slideshow. Pretty neat.

I am getting so much done now that Zane is in school for 6 hours. I do miss him, but it is nice to have a little quiet. Angelina likes to make noise just for fun, but it isn't the constant bickering of siblings trying to annoy each other as much as they can. Zane is doing much better going to school now. The past week he has been not wanting to go to school. Two days ago he laid down on the floor and dragged his body across the floor with his arms because he didn't want to go to school. Sounds like a story my mom tells about me to everyone. Today all was well this morning. He even walked out the door without telling me bye! I am just glad it's getting better. Well I finally finished it. I have a store for my digital scrapbooking kits. It's called Digi Scrap Fun. I only have three kits finished so it won't take you long to go through it, but I have to start somewhere. Please leave any comments, questions or suggestions. Sorry this has taken so long. Busy busy busy. Zane's last couple of days of school and now my mom is here. Plus I spend nearly every free moment making digiscrap kits. I have three finished and I hope everyone likes them. I am still learning though. There are plenty of features on PSP that I don't know what they do yet and digiscrap techniques I haven't learned yet. It just means they can only get better. I've had a very exciting day today though. I sold my digital camera on ebay yesterday. As soon as that money hit my paypal account I was at Circuit City. I got a new Nikon L4. Pretty neat little camera. I also have the Coolpix 2100. I think the Nikons take great pictures so I sold my Olympus. Oh happy day I have a new electronic toy to play with. Oh happy day. So anyways I have some cool pictures my mom took of Angelina flying through the air at the pool. Yes I am way too close I can't help it. I'm alway afraid I am too far away to catch her. Not that she cares. Also Zane going under water which is quite a big deal for him this year.
So back to the digiscrappin. I am hoping to start a store soon (when I have a few more than 3 kits made). For now I think I am going to post a freebie when I finish a kit and leave it free until the next kit is ready. So please everybody let me know what you think of my kit by commenting on my blog or even emailing me especially if you make a layout with it. I would love to see what you come up with. I am feeling very confident today. I accomplished so much yesterday I felt like Wonder Woman. Every morning I eat breakfast in front of the computer gathering digital scrapbooking freebies and checking emails before trying to get my shower in without waking up the kids. Then I get the kids up, fed, and dressed before taking Zane to school. There is not much time between him going and getting out of school. It makes those two hours kind of hectic trying to get as much done as possible. Well yesterday Markus took Zane to school with little resistance this time. He was nearly in tears the first time. What can I say my boy loves me. Anyways, that gave me an extra 20 minutes today which doesn't sound like much . . . because it isn't, but it gave me some kind of boost. I cleaned tubs, toilets, sinks, floors were vacuumed and mopped in the bathrooms and kitchen, all carpet was vacuumed, sheets washed, 2 loads of laundry done, Zacs computer was packed up for mailing and I'm sure there is more I just can't think of it right now. Oh and I dusted which I hate more than anything. Have you tried dusting legos?! I have legos (many many legos) on my computer desk, on my entertainment center, on the fish tank, on the kitchen bar, on Zane's dresser, book shelf, and 2 wall shelves, on my dresser, curio cabinet, book shelf, antique refrigerator, and nightstands. I HATE DUSTING! That there would have been an accomplished day. But I still had time left so I of course started playing on the computer with another scrap layout for Legoland. Let me say that for anyone that digiscraps I was using Microsoft Picture It for my layouts. Wow I found Paint Shop Pro. Talk about some cool things you can do on the computer. This is my second layout using PSP and I think from a digiscrapping point of view it is by far my most advanced and best looking page yet. With that accomplished hubby comes home. This becomes family time. But he received a package in the mail. Guess what it was. Yup legos. So he spent the rest of the evening building his pirate boat. Yup I get to go back to the computer. First I made dinner though. Then I started making another digiscrap kit, my third one. I haven't even finished my last one. This is just too addicting. Wow what a day. I feel good.

Well I finally took time away from designing my second kit and improving my first to actually scrap. I have so many pics to scrap, but have been completely absorbed in creating kits. I think it might be because I have never been a creative person, but I love to fiddle around on computers. Making the kits has been fun because I can just click on effects and adjustments just to see what they do and tadaaa I created something. I like it so far. I will hopefully be posting those kits soon. For now I have one layout done for Legoland and many many more to go.

Legoland was a blast

I love any kind af amusement park, but Legoland was even better. Besides the rides, which are very little kid friendly, there was so much to look at. We took 369 pictures on our two days there. If your kids play with legos (or your husband) that is definitely the place to go. Everything is made out of legos. We took a safari ride and all of the animals are made out of legos. Tourists were made out of legos. Dinosaurs and dragons were made out of legos. There is a section called Miniland with the New York skyline, statue of liberty, sydney australia and so much more all made out of legos. We also go to take pictures with larger than life Darth Vader, R2D2, and Chewy(did I mention all made out of legos). After two days we still didn't get to see or do everything. I updated my photo album with pictures. You can check it out here. It was quite an experience for Zane. We were afraid he wouldn't go on any rides, but he asked to go on the first(and largest) roller coaster we came upon. It wasn't much compared to say a Six Flags park, but it was enormous for him. He did great. He went on it and another roller coaster twice each! I was so happy he had fun. Zac and I went on a ride called the Knight's Tournament. John called it the Arm of Death. It was a mechanical arm sticking out of the ground that whipped you up, down, and around. It was fun to say the least. We started planning our trip for next year on the way home.

Well my first blog entry. What to say? Well I started this blog to share my pictures and scrapbook pages with family mainly, but I will also use it to promote my homemade candy and my newest hobby, creating digital scrapbook kits. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I will. If not, fine be that way.
